Zimbabwe
Talitha Kum Zimbabwe is a network of Religious life, Clergy and Lay committed to working towards eliminating trafficking in persons and its causes. Talitha Kum Zimbabwe started in 2016, raising awareness of Talitha Kum Network to different Congregations, mobilizing and organizing workshops in Zimbabwe through explaining the work of the International Talitha Kum Network. Through presentations, different Sisters who were interested in joining the Network were taught about human trafficking issues. Sr. Annah was among the First Talitha Kum Trained Leaders in Rome and became the first coordinator followed by Sister Diana as the second and current Zimbabwe Coordinator.
Currently, the network collaborates with different stakeholders including the government of Zimbabwe, tertiary institutions as well as private organisations for instance IOM.
Talitha Kum Zimbabwe has been active in the reintegration and empowerment of survivors of human trafficking. The network managed to train over 3000 young people in different dioceses. The Youth Ambassadors trained by Talitha Kum International have altogether managed to act as protagonists of social change in reaching out to young people.

Malawi
Talitha Kum Network in Malawi (TAKUNEMA)
Formation of TAKUNEMA
Human trafficking is a harsh reality in Malawi, with many individuals—especially women, children and youth—being trafficked both within and outside the country. Factors such as poverty, unemployment, displacement due to natural disasters and cultural influences contribute to this growing crisis. Unfortunately, many people remain unaware of the dangers and implications of human trafficking. Recognizing this crisis, the Association of Women Religious in Malawi (AWRIM) and key stakeholders collaborated to establish a local network dedicated to awareness, prevention and victim support.
With the guidance of Talitha Kum International and with support from the Union of Superior Generals (UISG), Malawi’s network aims to strengthen local advocacy, education and intervention efforts.
Building a Strong Network & Collaboration
As part of our plan, TAKUNEMA will:
• Strengthen Internal & External Partnerships – Build genuine relationships with individuals and organizations that share our goal of fighting trafficking.
• Improve Communication & Advocacy – Develop active listening skills to raise awareness and influence change.
• Support Survivors & Strengthen Partnerships – Connect with other groups to help victims recover and rebuild their lives.
• Engage Youth Ambassadors – Empower young people to develop preventive measures by discussing life goals and providing vocational skills to reduce vulnerability to trafficking.
Goal
“To eliminate human trafficking in Malawi by preventing exploitation, protecting victims, prosecuting offenders and strengthening legal and institutional frameworks.”
Vision
“A Malawi free from human trafficking where all individuals live in dignity, security and freedom from exploitation.’’
Mission Statement
To combat human trafficking through a coordinated approach that includes prevention, victim protection, prosecution of traffickers and partnership with stakeholders, ensuring justice and support for affected individuals.
