Talitha Kum

Zimbabwe

Talitha Kum Zimbabwe is a network of Religious life, Clergy and Lay committed to working towards eliminating trafficking in persons and its causes. Talitha Kum Zimbabwe started in 2016, raising awareness of Talitha Kum Network to different Congregations, mobilizing and organizing workshops in Zimbabwe through explaining the work of the International Talitha Kum Network. Through presentations, different Sisters who were interested in joining the Network were taught about human trafficking issues. Sr. Annah was among the First Talitha Kum Trained Leaders in Rome and became the first coordinator followed by Sister Diana as the second and current Zimbabwe Coordinator.
Currently, the network collaborates with different stakeholders including the government of Zimbabwe, tertiary institutions as well as private organisations for instance IOM.

Talitha Kum Zimbabwe has been active in the reintegration and empowerment of survivors of human trafficking. The network managed to train over 3000 young people in different dioceses. The Youth Ambassadors trained by Talitha Kum International have altogether managed to act as protagonists of social change in reaching out to young people.
